The History of Kenkoh

  • 1965 Kyu-kichi Yamanashi completed the prototype wooden soled massage sandal.
  • 1969 Yugi Yamanashi initiated mass production of the Kenkoh® massage sandal.
  • 1980 Jacob Wurtz tried on Kenkohs® at a Natural Health Convention in Florida, and recognized the powerful health benefits.
  • 1985 Jacob and his business partner Jane Strong bought several hundred pairs and sold them out in 10 days at a state fair. Kenkoh® was used to launch a 9 store chain called Happy Feet Plus, currently selling 150 – 200 pairs of Kenkohs®/week.
  • 2006 clinical study – Kyoto University School of Medicine, Japan. Kenkoh® overall was Best of Class. The findings: (1) Overall fatigue was eased (2) The feeling of fatigue and listlessness improved significantly (3) Pulse rate remained significantly lower (4) Reduction of lower limb swelling (5) Subjects had less foot pain, and they felt better.
  • 2011 the brand was launched nationally in the U.S. and is being offered to select premium Health and Wellness Footwear Accounts.

This is the best shoe I've found for my plantar fasciitis and heel spur- even better than my Birkenstocks. They let me walk totally without pain. For that I would give them 5 stars. But the shoes have a strong odor of rubber tires- so strong I can't wear them indoors because the fumes they give off make me feel sick. I store them in a file cabinet drawer and only put them on when I go for walks outside. This is too bad, because they make my feet feel so good I'd like to wear them all the time.

Love, love, LOVE these shoes! I wear them around the house constantly. 'Would definitely recommend them to people with healthy feet, as well as those who have painful, or problem, feet.

Unfortunently I had to return them. I have flat feet so the arch support through my gait off causing back pain within minutes of wearing them. if there is another shoe like this without the arches I would consider them

These are my second pair of Kenkoh sandals. I got my first pair when I had plantar fasciitis. They were the only shoes that made my feet not hurt. I wore that pair out and need a new pair.

I have had these for 2 days. Adjustment time is not bad,I am wearing them all day the 2nd day at home.I am not on my feet all day. I like how my feet feel after have been walking from them. Since I have several health conditions, that reflexology can/may help... I look forward to seeing how these work.
