Yes, I’m a guy and I like clogs.
Prior to working at Happy Feet Plus I would not even thought about wearing a pair of clogs. No, I came from the corporate world complete with wingtips and button-down collars. Little did I realize how much my feet were crying out for help.
Being jammed into “fashionable” shoes were making all the little piggies packed much too tightly together. They wanted, and needed, room to stretch out and breathe. My first clogs were Tatami Oklahomas. (Now they have been moved to the Footprints brand as Antwerpens.) OK, so they looked a bit like duck feet with the wide toe box, but they were just what my feet needed.
With room to spread out and relax my feet good happier and the aches and pains went away. So I tried another style of clog – the Alton from Footprints. This clog has a great boot look to it. I wear them with jeans all of the time. The back is just high enough to help keep it in place but low enough to still have the clog open feel to it.
If you’re have feet pain and your closet is full of narrow-toed tie shoes you might want to try a nice pair of clogs. You never know you might just start a fashion trend in your office.
One clog that I personally have not owned, but we sure sell a lot of, is the Birkenstock Boston. This would be a great way for you to get into a top-quality clog at a great price. All leather and suede Birkenstock Boston Clogs are $30 off regular price.
When I say “Classic Skipper” is this the first image that comes to your mind? Perhaps, but I’m thinking more along the lines of the Birki’s Classic Skipper Clog.
The Birki’s Classic Skipper does remind me of a shoe that either The Skipper or Gilligan might wear on that tropical isle. It’s a casual and comfortable clog that would look good with Gilligan’s jeans or The Skipper’s khakis. And the others? Yes, they too would look dashing in their very own Classic Skipper Clogs.
The Classic Skipper Clog comes in either nubuck leather or a heavy canvas. Both feature Birki’s Soft Base Sole that provides an extra layer of cushioned comfort between the black EVA sole and the cork footbed. Does it feel like you’re walking on a sandy beach? Maybe not, but it sure is soft and easy on your feet.
The gray nubuck Classic Skipper can be yours for only $99.99, a savings of $40. The mocha canvas Classic Skipper is also a great buy at only $89.99, an awesome $30 savings. This is a limited time offer, so get yours today.
Birkenstock Boston Clogs -
Keep your feet warm when the weather gets frightful.
Winter is the perfect time to slip into your favorite pair of Boston Suede Clogs and enjoy the warmth and suppleness of the natural suede leather. All Boston clogs feature the famous Birkenstock core and latex footbed.
The suede Boston clogs have three footbed options available to you. Color selections are available for the Classic Footbed, the Soft Footbed or the High Arch versions.
The Classic Footbed is also known as the “hard” footbed. This is the original cork and latex footbed that made Birkenstock famous. The Classic Footbed is designed for individuals with a moderate arch.
The Soft Footbed starts life as a Classic Footbed. Birkenstock then adds an extra layer of foam sandwiched between the cork and the suede footbed liner. The extra foam provides a more cushioned ride for folks who find the Classic Footbed to be too severe. The Soft Footbed version is primarily designed for users with flat feet or low arches.
The High Arch version (only available in Taupe) is designed for individuals with significantly high arches. It is recommended that if you’ve never worn the Birkenstock High Arch Footbeds that you visit a local Birkenstock retailer and try one on.
Right now happy Feet Plus is featuring the Birkenstock Boston Suede Clogs at $30 off original retail. It’s a great price on a great shoe. Click Here to visit the Happy Feet Plus website and choose your favorite Boston Suede Clog before this deal ends.
Birkenstock brands epitomize basic footwear at its very best. German-based shoe distributor Birkenstock Orthopädie GmbH & Co. KG has been serving the public’s podiatric needs since 1774. For over two centuries, all high-quality product offerings have echoed founder Johann Adam Birkenstock’s personal philosophy: “No smoke; no mirrors; no gizmos – just great footwear”.
Johann’s grandson Konrad expounded upon his ancestor’s brilliance by devising a revolutionary footwear concept in 1897. Konrad’s overriding objective was designing shoes with shapes that conform to the human foot’s natural curvature. His ambitious obsession spawned the then-novel theory that shoes made for close mimicry of the human foot’s internal anatomy offer the most comfort. In 1902, Konrad’s hypothesis concretized into the world’s first mass-produced contoured insole.
The rest is history. Konrad’s introduction of footwear with integrated arch supports that feature broad aesthetic appeal and functionality has made the Birkenstock brand famous for generations.
Answering a perennial footwear paradox
Finding a material with sufficient rigidity that provides adequate support while retaining sufficient flexibility for extended wearing comfort has posed a perpetual challenge for commercial shoemakers.
The Birkenstock blue footbed is a contemporary solution to this ancient anatomical riddle. These innovative inserts offer outstanding support while facilitating full foot mobility and optimal interaction of all internal podiatric structures.
Taking foot comfort to new levels
Compatibility with a vast array of non-brand footwear is the most valuable Birkenstock footbed aspect. These removable insoles feature only the best quality of construction and material components. Primary cork-based construction provides a light weight platform of support and shock absorbency without creating foot fatigue.
Amazing arch and heel support
Each specially designed Birkenstock Blue footbed also provides pronounced support for all three major foot arches. Medial and lateral arches running lengthwise along the foot surfaces function in perfect podiatric harmony with crosswise metatarsal arch movements.
Specially contoured Birkenstock Blue arch supports also include deep heel cutouts that help relieve plantar discomfort and heel pain. A built-in lining and outer coverage of 100 percent genuine silk provides moisture resistance and is easily removable for periodic hand washing.
A dynamic duo of comfort and style
In addition to various widths from narrow to wide that fit any shoe size, Birkenstock Blue arch supports come in two distinctive designs to suit individual needs and lifestyles.
Birkenstock’s Blue casual foot beds are intended for insertion into flat shoes that feature identical heel and toe levels. Typical footwear formats include regular sneakers, basketball and cross-training sports shoes as well as many casual and dress shoe styles.
Birkenstock’s heeled arch supports feature elevated forefoot support. This format is most suitable for work, hiking, dress, or casual boots in addition to many dress and casual low-heel shoe styles. Birkenstock Blue foot bed supports accommodate heels heights of up to 15 centimeters. Such versatility ensures their compatibility with a wide variety of heeled shoe styles.
A terrific trifurcation of tremendous support
All Birkenstock Blue arch supports offer outstanding support and optimal spinal alignment by way of supporting all three of the major foot arches. This comprehensive reinforcement regime is not so obtrusive as to obstruct free foot movement while walking or running, however.
People with medial arch heights falling within low-to-medium ranges readily appreciate the additional support and comfort of these non-plastic platforms.
And when it comes to the foot beds in the shoes and sandals, Cork’s natural contouring properties and rapid molding amenability keep “break in” time associated with other alternatives to a minimum. Dual layered Jute fibers add moisture resistance and strength for easy resoling.
Soft suede veneers are valuable foot comforters that continuously soothe and protect the body’s anatomical supportive structures.
We’ve got two big ways to SAVE.
For a limited time we’re taking $30 off of all soft footbed Birkenstock styles. That’s right, all Birkenstock shoes, sandals and clogs with the famous soft footbed are on sale now. Don’t miss this opportunity to grab a pair for you and someone you love.

Do you have a lack of support?
The most popular replacement for unsupportive insoles is the Birkenstock Blue Arch Support. The Blue Arch Supports are available for both flat shoes and shoes with moderate heels (up to 1-1/2 inches) and in three widths. The Blue Arch Supports are designed to support the medial, lateral and metatarsal arches.
If you need a full length insole then the Birko-Sport 2-Part Insole might just be for you. This insole was designed specifically for sports activities. The Birko-Sport insole features a full-length shock-absorbing footbed with a distinctive toe grip for improved circulation. The Birko-Sport also provides support for the three major arches.
For lovers of the Finn Comfort footbed you might discover that you can use a Finn Comfort replacement footbed in place of your non-Finn Comfort insole. This is a good option for shoes with sufficient height to accommodate the extra thickness of the Finn footbed. If you’re familiar with Finn Comfort footwear you know just how well the footbeds support your feet and how good they make you feel.
Birkenstock: What Sets it Apart From Other Shoes?
Beginning in Germany in 1774, Birkenstock has made its presence and purpose known in the footwear industry for more than 230 years strong. This now worldwide company prides itself on providing comfortable, innovative, long-lasting, sustainable footwear products that are as naturally fashionable as ever. Happy Feet, at happyfeet.com, is proud to host all six lines of the German handcrafted Birkenstock family, namely Alpro, Birkenstock, Birki’s, Footprints, Papillio, and Tatami.
The secret to Birkenstock’s unmatched comfort lies in their ergonomic minimalist design. The lack of heavy materials, embellishments, and other such bells and whistles, so to speak, gives them a seemingly effortless coziness. In reality, that ultimate comfort that keeps your feet happy all day comes from years and years of German-engineered study and practice.
Every shoe features a deep heel cup to aid in optimal foot alignment and weight distribution. A roomy toe box lets your piggly wigglies breathe and move about freely. The foot beds mold to the unique shape of your feet as you continue to wear the shoes, customizing them just for you. And there are three different foot bed models to choose from according to your specific arch support needs and preferences.
The shock-absorbing soles, carefully contoured foot beds, and firm orthopedic support combine to create healthy support for your feet and up. Balance, circulation, leg and spinal alignment, and muscle exercise are all promoted by the meticulously fashioned structure of each style. This makes for not only the ultimate in long-term comfort, but improved posture and overall foot health as well.
People do not readily think to have their shoes repaired anymore. You spend hundreds of dollars on shoes in a year’s time and when they wear out or break, you think, “time for new ones.” Birkenstocks, however, are specially made so that every piece of the shoe can be replaced when needed. Lose a buckle or notice some discoloration? It can be swapped out for a brand new one. The bottom’s getting worn or slick? The shoe can be re-soled. The foot bed’s getting dingy or the dog took a chunk out of it? It can be replaced. Instead of spending $50 to $100 or more on a new pair of shoes, your Birkenstocks can hang around for years. They really are an investment for the future health of your feet, and your feet will certainly thank you for it.
Birkenstock is not simply joining in the “go green” trend. The company was built around an environmental sensibility that continues to develop as more sustainable resources arise. The shoes are made from recyclable and naturally sustainable materials, like cork recycled from the wine bottle corking industry. The shoe boxes they come in consist of 90 percent recycled paper and are labeled using environmentally friendly ink.
If you have it, flaunt it, right? Birkenstock has this mantra down pat. They have an organic natural appeal that looks great without going over the top. No flashy frills; just subtle splendor that lets you rock your natural beauty at its best. As far as footwear goes, Birkenstocks have it all. Just like you.
How Can Proper Footwear Help My Bunions?
Many people still believe that bunions are only for senior citizens; however, nothing could be further from the truth. While women are more susceptible to bunions than men are, they can happen to anyone. Typically, ill-fitting shoes, particularly high-heeled, pointed toe shoes, cause them. Such footwear may be fashionable, but they are anathema to your feet. In shoes that are too constrictive, the foot is forced into the unnatural position of bending inward, toward the second toe. This causes the joint of the big toe to become misaligned and out of place. The joint will then enlarge, compensating for the odd realignment. That bony bump at the base of your big toe is a danger signal that should not be ignored.
Pressure on tendons will then cause the big toe to be pulled into an abnormal position. Eventually, an unsightly bunion occurs, becoming permanent and sometimes painful. Bunions can affect the way a person walks, inhibiting the normally wide base of stability in alignment. Ill-fitting shoes aggravate and perpetuate bunions. From childhood, wearing proper fitting shoes will help prevent this painful condition. However, many people opt for haute couture over being comfortable and correct when it comes to shoes. The result is many adults walking around with protruding and painful bunions. Choosing footwear with a proper fit and sufficient toe room can actually help prevent, or delay, the development of bunions later in life. Children should always wear correct, carefully fitted shoes.
If you currently suffer from bunions, it is even more important that you choose the proper footwear to correct your condition, or at least mitigate it. Short of actually having surgery to correct the condition, supportive footwear is the next best solution. Fortunately, corrective and supportive footwear not only provides crucial metatarsal and medial arch support, but also comes in fashionable designs and great looking footwear in a wide range of styles. The good news is, many of the best shoe manufacturers in the business have heard your cry for help and feel your pain. People in the know choose wisely, when it comes to buying footwear and always trust the venerable experts with proven results and happy customers.
Birkenstock, and the Birkenstock family including Tatami, Alpro, Papillio and Footprints & Finn Comfort are just a few of the great shoe manufacturers that offer stylish, attractive options that can get your feet back on the right track. The musculoskeletal structure of your feet should be taken seriously and treated cautiously. Painful bunions can have a detrimental effect on your posture, the way you stand, and the way you walk. When your feet hurt, it is impossible to feel good. Making the right footwear choices will not only solve your immediate problems of pain and discomfort, they will also prevent long-term health issues such as knee, leg, and back problems.
There is a good reason athletes, hikers, walkers, health aficionados, doctors and people who are serious about taking good care of every aspect of their physical being, choose quality footwear produced by the best designers in the business. Podiatrist approved and fashion savvy, these great footwear choices eliminate the ultimatum between looking stylish and feeling great. Now you can do both. Two feet are all you are assigned in this life, take good care of them.
Why We Sell Only Healthy Shoes Like Birkenstock and Finn Comfort
Many of the commercially available shoes on the market today for both men and women are not only uncomfortable but are actually designed with flaws that affect the health of the foot. The reason behind this is that most shoes are designed simply for appearance or the illusion of comfort with little or no thought given to the long-term health of the feet of the wearer. It is important to keep in mind that even though a shoe may feel comfortable for daily walking, if it is designed without long-term foot health in mind, the wearer may be doing a disservice to the health of their feet.
A perfect example of this occurs when a majority of women switch from wearing heeled boots during the colder months to wearing flip-flop sandals during the summer months. Many women will complain of a tingling in their feet or a loss of feeling. This is due to the overcompensation of the heel and arch contrasted to the lack of support offered by the sandal. After a few seasons of being subjected to this, the foot can suffer some serious damage including pinched nerves and permanent shape change. Another example of this occurs with the high heels that women wear. While most women do not expect their high heels to be comfortable for long-term wear, they often find that after years of wearing them, they are uncomfortable in anything but high heels. This is because the tendon will actually shrink when subjected to long-term exposure to shoes that are designed without foot health in mind.
Men are not immune to these problems as their formal shoes and running shoes are designed for appearance and temporary comfort, again neglecting the health of the wearer. A condition known as hammertoe is found in both men and women who wear poorly designed or ill-fitting shoes that force the toes into an uncomfortable and cramped position. For those that spend a lot of time on their feet in poorly designed shoes, fatigue may occur along with leg, joint and foot pain. This can lead to a lack of productivity at best and work place injury at worst. Prolonged standing in shoes that were not designed with health in mind can lead to pain that begins in the foot but soon travels to other parts of the body, effecting the overall enjoyment and quality of life of the wearer.
When selecting footwear it is important to remember that the foot was designed perfectly the way that it is and shoes that reflect this natural design such as those made by Birkenstock and Finn Comfort are the best choice for long-term health. Their shoes allow for the right amount of support coupled with the proper amount of freedom of movement of the toes. They are designed of materials that help the foot to breathe properly. Both of these footwear manufacturers strive to create shoes and sandals that form to the natural shape of the foot, enabling the wearer to walk the way that nature intended.
