MBT provides several different outsole profiles, each adapted to the use of the footwear. The rubber outsoles are made out of 20 different compounds and provide a perfect balance between grip and durability.

The Integrated Shank has Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) mixed with glass fibers to create an impact-resistant material with a high degree of stiffness.

The Masai Sensor consists of a soft Polyurethane (PU). The sensor produces a pleasant feeling, reminiscent of walking on natural, uneven ground. The softness is important to create the specific functionality (sink-in movement) of the MBT sole.

Linings

• The 3D Mesh lining regulates the climate inside the MBT in a natural way by combining air circulation and moisture management. It keeps the foot comfortably dry. The basis of DRY&COOL is the combination of high-grade mesh lining with a functional sockliner.
• GORE-TEX membrane is the heart of GORE-TEX® footwear. It is completely waterproof but permeable for water vapor.

Sockliner

• DRY&COOL - Upper part is a single-layer mesh, a breathable and open woven fabric. Lower part is foam with an open cell structure which allows breathability, assists moisture management, is quick-drying and antimicrobial.
• The antimicrobial split leather insole creates a soft and dry feeling when walking barefoot.
• Full grain leather sockliner uses selected full grain leather lining for added comfort.
